"What schedule can I expect from Absolute Stone?"
"What do I need to do before works commence?"

Following your acceptance of Absolute Stone’s written quote, you will have paid a deposit and been given an 'estimated' installation date.
Absolute Stone endeavours to stick to this date wherever possible.

It is your responsibility to inform Absolute Stone of any delays that may occur in having the job ready to install (eg. Delays with cabinet-makers, delays in delivery of any new appliances, lack of site access, etc)

The Day before Absolute Stone commences works:
You must make sure all bench tops are completely cleared and all cupboards are emptied to enable installers easy access to do their job efficiently and safely.
All new appliances (sinks, hotplates, ovens, taps etc) must be on-site prior to commencement of any works by Absolute Stone.
Any works you have agreed to undertake yourself, prior to installation, MUST be completed. (eg. Removal of tiled splashbacks if applicable, de-commissioning of sink and hotplate, if this has been deleted from Absolute Stone’s scope of works, completion of any new cabinet-works, etc.)
Absolute Stone will not be responsible for any delays in installation caused by these works being incomplete.

Day 1 of installation
Generally, an independent plumbing contractor used by Absolute Stone, will arrive around 7am and de-commission your sink, hotplate and, if stone splashbacks are being installed, also decommission any power points affected.
NOTE: While every care is taken by the plumbing contractor to remove existing appliances without damage, this is sometimes impossible due to circumstances beyond his control. eg. Silicone having been used to install and / or repair vanity basins and sinks, old taps sometimes leaking when moved, etc.
Absolute Stone accepts no responsibility for damage caused as a result of these types of problems.
Wherever possible, plumbing to sinks and appliances will be capped so water, gas and electricity can still be used throughout the rest of the home.
Absolute Stone’s installer will arrive around 8:30 – 9:00am.
They will lay out drop-sheets to cover all floors from the entry point of the home, to the work area. All floor coverings within 2 metres of bench top areas will be completely covered up.
Any carpentry works quoted and previously agreed to be done by Absolute Stone, will then be undertaken. (eg. Cutting back of existing laminate fascia overhangs, to allow granite fascia to be applied, etc)
A template of the entire job will then be taken using 3mm MDF board.
The installer will now return to Absolute Stone’s factory to commence cutting out and polishing of the job.

Day 2 of installation
Most jobs require this full day to be spent in the factory preparing slabs for installation, usually on Day 3.

Day 3 of installation
If a smaller job, the tops will be installed am of day 3.
For larger jobs, the morning of Day 3 may still require some factory preparation of materials.
If this is the case, we will endeavour to install the kitchen pm of this day.
NOTE : To minimize the risk of breakage, final cut-outs for sinks, hotplate and any vanities, must be done following the gluing down of tops. Absolute Stone installers use dust extraction equipment. While every effort is taken to minimise mess, some dust may result.
Where Absolute Stone has been engaged to do re-commissioning of all appliances, this will be done on completion of all bench top installation works, either at the end of Day 3, or during Day 4.

PLEASE NOTE: While every effort is made to have the Plumbing contractor arrive soon after completion of the bench top installation, in some instances this is not possible and re-commissioning may be delayed up to 24 hours.
Bench tops will be sealed by Absolute Stone following installation and best results are obtained after 72 hours.
During this period bench tops can be used safely, however it is important that any spills be cleaned immediately.
